What Is Your Inner Critic Saying to You?

It’s time to cut yourself some slack. Most of us are experts at being hard on ourselves and novices at being easy with ourselves. Listen to your self-talk. How many times per day do you tell yourself something to the tune of: “I’m not good enough, I am not deserving, something is wrong with me, I should have done or been more, better or different”? And is telling yourself these things bring more joy, fulfillment, success, and peace into your life? I suspect not. If you talked to your friends the way you talk to yourself and had the expectations of them you have of yourself, how many friends would you have? Today let’s UPdate the old “Golden Rule” to: “do unto yourself what you do to others and do not do unto yourself what you would not do to others.”
