During the night, our salivary glands slow down and our mouth dries out naturally. In this environment, bacteria can easily grow and it begins to feed on things inside of our mouths. It is the bacteria that is causing the bad breath and once we brush our teeth and rehydrate our mouths, the bad breath tends to go away.

Anytime that we have a dry mouth, regardless of why we have it, it can be a problem that causes halitosis as well. Drinking water regularly and making sure that we stay hydrated is one way that we can ensure that our mouths are always moist on the inside and that will keep the bad breath away. Of course, it is still necessary for you to make sure that you are taking care of basic hygiene but by drinking water every day and staying hydrated, you can do a lot to ensure that you are not offending others with your breath.
